Blogging the right direction? what categories to use to stay organized and hit my target.
My blog would be on gaming. I would be talking about three games that I would be focusing on and I would really want to stick with these games. I tend to get distracted with other games and want to talk about them, but that is why I would want my categories on the games I am focused on. I definitely would want the name of the games in my categories so I would have a better chance for people finding mine. I also would want to put in what I am talking about in these blogs in relation to the game For example, I would say the game name and News together.
The categories the I would choose for my gaming blog would be first, Defiance News. Defiance is one of the games I am focusing on and I would want to try to talk about the newest things going on in the game. It would hopefully be great for my target audience because I am sure people are searching for defiance news. The next name would be Defiance How to's? I would talk about in each blog how to do something in the game I found out. There are always people searching how to do a particular thing in a game and it would help them find out. Plus, there are always new tricks I learn in games that I would love to share. I would do the same for my other two games, Mechwarrior Online and Elder Scrolls Online. This would help me keep focused on what I care about and hopefully bring my target audience to my blog.

I agree with you that maintaining focus is crucial. In the past, I authored a few blogs which began on one topic area and, over several months, I strayed away from my original topic. The audience became a bit confused and this may my brand appear inconsistent. Having categories that break down without scattering your subject matter is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThis is a well thought out pla and shows your passion for the games you intend to teach to others. This is an awesome path for you to follow since your newsletters won't be haphazard.
ReplyDeleteI would think this section about things you know about the game would grab those beginners. They want to know the tricks to help them play. This business would work with anything that you put the trial and error time into then give the customer the facts to save them time. I could even learn some tricks to play. This is a place to be successful since I don't know how to play any game. The savings is in your pocket if you show me just one to impress my 15 year old.
